Social Responsibility

We frame our responsibilities as a retailer towards ethical sourcing, the environment and the communities within which we operate.

Ultimately, we acknowledge our responsibility to respect human rights and are proud to be a member of the United Nations Global Compact (www.unglobalcompact.org) a diverse group of 2400 companies and other organisations that support corporate social responsibility.

We are the first UK retailer to have the honour of participating and sit on the Steering Group of the UK Forum. We are involved in a number of current projects with regard to reporting and supporting local networks.

Ten Principles:

The Global Compact advocates respect for 10 principles based on UN declarations and conventions including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We have finished reporting on our performance in respect of these 10 principles for 2007-09.
