Shop Direct Group Financial Services

Shop Direct Group Financial Services offers customers of Shop Direct Home Shopping Limited brands a wide range of credit, insurance and warranty products. One such range of products includes a competitive credit card which we offer customers in partnership with Barclaycard.

We employ 1500 people across three sites: Sunderland, the home of our Sales Operations, Aintree, the home of our brand new state-of-the-art call centre and our head office in Bolton, the home of Fraud Prevention and Debt Recovery.

We put our customers at the centre of what we do. We also want our business to be a great place to work and throughout everything we do we want to keep things as simple as possible.

Range of Roles

There are several roles in Shop Direct Group Financial Services, including those shown below

Collections Advisor
Sometimes our customers have difficulties paying. When that happens, we need an empathetic person to call them and negotiate the best way for them to pay off their debts. It means understanding our product range, following policies and procedures, and talking to third parties such as the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and debt collection agencies. So you’ll need good communication, problem-solving and PC skills. It’ll be up to you to decide the best course of action, so it’s also important you’re commercially aware and confident making decisions. Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) you’ll be good with figures, words and people. Any knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act or FSA/OFT guidelines would be an advantage

Team Leader
Helping your team do their very best is an important job. You need to monitor their performance, support them with difficult queries and show them how to improve. When procedures change, you’ll give online training, and if system faults appear, you’ll report them as required. To hit targets, you need to understand telephone operations and ACD systems. But it’s also vital that you can manage staff: arranging shift schedules, writing appraisals and organising work. Get it right and you’ll soon have a positive, high-performing team on your side.

Fraud Investigator
It’s a sad fact that we do experience fraud. To limit our exposure to criminal activity, we need analytical people, who’ll investigate information and take appropriate action. It’s important you follow policies and procedures set by us and our regulators, and use your detailed knowledge of credit policies, the Police & Criminal Evidence Act, and Fraud Prevention Agency rules. Experienced in customer services, banking or financial services, you’ll pay attention to detail, be computer literate and thorough. By applying these skills, plus your decision-making abilities, you can make a huge impact on our Profit & Loss.
