If you’re looking for the best start to your career then this is the place to be. We’ve created our Up & Coming apprenticeship and internship programmes for ambitious and innovative school leavers, university students and graduates.
Our programme will support you as you embark on your career, giving you the support and training you need to get off to a flying start. We’re looking for candidates who are keen to learn and contribute to our ambitious plans, playing their part in our purpose to make good things easily accessible to more people.
Our IT apprenticeship programme, which starts in the summer, gives our apprentices the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience of working across three key areas – business analysis, testing and software engineering. The programme is aimed at candidates that have recently completed A levels or equivalent qualifications.
As part of the apprenticeship you will receive all the support and training you need to achieve your level three and level four qualification in IT, as well the opportunity to develop your career further with us.
We run an intern programme for undergraduates who choose to do a year in industry . You’ll get the chance to work in one of our departments, like ecommerce or product, for your placement year and benefit from hands on experience in your chosen career. We realise how valuable this is to help kick start your career, so we’ll provide you with the best development and support to ensure you get the most out of your time with us.
Hi, I’m Heather Mills. I’ve been interning in the womenswear buying department, currently working in woven separates. I’m really enjoying my time here at Shop Direct because of the variety of tasks within the role. You’ll never be doing the same thing day to day. My favourite aspect of the job is the product; I love working with the product and helping to develop it.

My name is Ethan Sedgwick. I’m an apprentice test engineer at Shop Direct. Currently, I’m working on the SAM project, which is an in-depth project based around managing the availability of supply. The testing of a project of this magnitude is varied and I’ve been exposed to many layers of the business. It’s helped me to understand the inner workings of Shop Direct and given me a strong understanding of the systems that power the business. The best thing about Shop Direct is the atmosphere. It’s one that both promotes ambition whilst not putting any pressure on its employees.
